How To Keep Skin Youthful For Longer?

Healthy and beautiful skin is very much depends not only on your skincare products but also on your overall lifestyle.

Each of us is given our own genetic start: appearance, constitution, predisposition to diseases, skin color and type etc.

However, nature is generous and wise - each of us has the ability to slow down our biological clock and remain beautiful and youthful for longer.

How to do it? Let's take a look at 7 simple rules.

1. Reasonable sleep regime. It is well known how important sleep is for our immune system and overall health. However, many don't associate sleep quality with skin beauty. A research confirmed that people who slept seven to nine hours a night had skin that was more moisturized and that could protect and heal itself better after being exposed to ultraviolet light compared to people who sleep less. So sleep well and go to bed on time!

2. A healthy diet. However commonplace it may sound, the truth “We are what we it” keeps being relevant. Apart from maintaining the balance of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, we should keep in mind the fluid-and-electrolyte balance. So drink a lot of water and don't add too much salt while cooking. In terms of your diet, antioxidant-rich foods seem to have a protective effect on the skin. Consider these skin-friendly foods:

  • Carrots, apricots, and other yellow and orange fruits and vegetables

  • Spinach and other green leafy vegetables

  • Tomatoes

  • Berries

  • Beans, peas and lentils

  • Salmon, mackerel and other fatty fish

  • Nuts

On the flip side, some foods seem to be associated with skin damage. For example, some research suggests that a diet high in processed or refined sugars or other carbohydrates and unhealthy fats promotes skin aging.

3. Cleansing. A gentle but thorough cleansing routine is essential for beautiful skin. Choose different products for a complex complete effect: makeup removers, gels, and foams, scrubs, and exfoliants.

4. Don’t be lazy. Even if you are not a fan of sport and physical exercise, do your best to be at least active during the day. This will ensure good blood circulation and a good mood. Furthermore, this will improve your skin's elasticity. Walking is a great exercise too!

5. Act comprehensively. Make sure your skin problem is addressed from different angles. For example, if you have oily or combination skin type, keep in mind that you should not only do a 3-step cleansing routine but also use moisturizers regularly.

6. Massage. Even if you don’t have the possibility to have full body massages on a regular basis, you are perfectly capable of using products that improve lymphatic drainage. For example, an exfoliating scrub with warm effect. MIND THAT: if you have some blood vessel or vein disorders, consult a specialist.

7. Your own beauty traditions. Homeostasis is an important process; it is the tendency of a living body to remain constant. If you have products that you love keep them in your routine and be consistent with all your "beauty steps".
